The Nuvi 660's little brother packs a solid punch in the GPS market
Review created: 01/29/07by: jag2112 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:

Same great Nuvi functionality as the higher-priced 660 line. Great screen. Spoken-street directions.

Cons:

No QWERTY keyboard or external volume control.
I recently wrote a review on the Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS system which is one of the best consumer GPS units on the market. One of the biggest hurdles facing the 660, however, is the steep price (in excess of $700 as of this writing). Though I happen to love my 660, I recently had the opportunity to road-test the smaller yet nearly-equally powered Nuvi 360 GPS which has a lot to offer in a smaller (and cheaper) package. The first thing you'll notice about the Nuvi 360 is its gorgeous, extremely brightly back-lit display. Sporting a 2.8 X 2.1 inch diagonal QVGA TFT screen with 320 x 240 pixels, the.

Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS - Never Get Lost Again

Pros:

Accurate, portable, Blutetooth compatibility.

Cons:

The sound level can be a slight issue, the price can come down some.
I've lived in the Bronx all my life and among the many perks of living in New York City, there's none quite more spoiling than the public transportation system. Since it has performed the chauffeuring duties so ably, I always felt that getting a driver's license was a pointless rite of passage. And where mass transit couldn t take me, I hitched a ride with friends, do-gooders and various well wishers. On my 30th birthday six years ago, my friends decided a subtle but firm nudge out of my comfort zone would show me the error of my ways. I was given driving lessons at the local driving school...

Cons:

Updated 12/25/06 Merry Christmas. I apologize for any confusion, but when I searched for a Nuvi 660 the day I tried my unit out, there were zero reviews written. I wrote the first one, but there was an error in how it was indexed, so now it shows up as a Nuvi 360. Just to reiterate, this review is for a Garmin Nuvi 660! Thank you. Blah blah blah, Jerome's obsessive history with GPS (Go down to the asterisks if you want to read about the Garmin!) I have found the ultimate. I have had factory GPS systems in 2 of my personal vehicles, a BMW and a Mercedes. Both of these paled to the factory GPS.

The Best GPS Ever!
Review created: 12/30/06by: soldout2jc -- a member of Epinions

Pros:

Small, self contained, full featured, battery life, accuracy, ease of use

Cons:

I have yet to find one, but it is pricey.
With all the GPS units on the market, "The Best GPS Ever" is a pretty bold statement I know, but I believe it to be true. Features overview: The NUVI comes preloaded City Navigator NT North America (full coverage maps) - Unlike other GPS units that come with the maps and software on an SD card, this unit has the maps loaded internally leaving the SD card slot open for other things which I will get to later. Specific destinations can quickly be found either by address or by searching the plethora of preprogrammed destinations such as restaurants, gas stations and other travel related locations.

A Good (But Not Great) GPS
Review created: 08/05/07by: baldeagle41 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:

Easy installation and basic operation, loaded with features, compact size

Cons:

Minimal Owners Manual, difficulty finding stores and other attractions, traffic reports requires additional FM receiver
Background: Research led me to Garmin as the best choice for a GPS unit and I quickly focused on a StreetPilot 550 and a Nuvi 360. For navigation capabilities, both units have very similar specifications except for size. Both list for about $625, but the StreetPilot can be bought on line for about $350 and the Nuvi for just under $400 with prices trending downward month by month. I decided to splurge, and went for the Nuvi 360 and I'm glad I did. I appreciate the smaller size of the 360 every time I use it, while the $50 savings the StreetPilot offered would have lost its glow as soon as the..
